Knowledge is not simply another commodity. On the contrary. Knowledge is never used up. It increases by diffusion and grows by dispersion.

Not all intelligence can be artificial now so if we make a mistake the consequences are no longer simply located within an institution or a national culture.

But some actors I have met possess an intelligence that I can only dream of. It's about character it's about behavior. They understand things about people that I simply don't see.

Human intelligence is a reflection of the intelligence that produces everything. In knowing we are simply extending the intelligence that comes to and constitutes us. We mimic the mind of God so to speak. Or better we continue and extend it.

I don't intend to simply go away and write my plays and be a good boy. I intend to remain an independent and political intelligence in my own right.

Everyone is a genius at least once a year. The real geniuses simply have their bright ideas closer together.

At the risk of appearing disingenuous I don't really think of myself as 'writing humor.' I'm simply reporting on the world I observe which is frequently hilarious.

You have to have hope. It's irresponsible to give false hope which I think a lot of playwrights are guilty of. But I also think it's irresponsible to simply be a nihilist which quite a lot of playwrights especially playwrights younger than me have become guilty of.
