Smiles come naturally to me but I started thinking of them as an art form at my command. I studied all the time. I looked at magazines I'd practice in front of the mirror and I'd ask photographers about the best angles. I can now pull out a smile at will.
Art is only a means to life to the life more abundant. It is not in itself the life more abundant. It merely points the way something which is overlooked not only by the public but very often by the artist himself. In becoming an end it defeats itself.
Growing up I looked up to major league baseball players and now these young women have amazing incredible women all across the board from swimming to gymnastics to softball to basketball.
First let me report that the art in the Barnes Collection has never looked better. My trips to the old Barnes were always amazing but except on the sunniest days you could barely see the art. The building always felt pushed beyond its capacity.
I used to think as I looked out on the Hollywood night 'There must be thousands of girls sitting alone like me dreaming of being a movie star.' But I'm not going to worry about them. I'm dreaming the hardest.
I always looked really young for my age. And once I hit 23 24 and 25 I was then allowed to play the cool 18-year-olds and stuff.
I'm never overawed by a situation and I think that's because I've always looked several years older than I am. So because people were treating me like I was 40 when I was 29 I've always felt in control of a situation. People used to say when you're 32 you'll look 32. I'm still waiting for that moment where my age catches up with my appearance.
In the digital age of 'overnight' success stories such as Facebook the hard slog is easily overlooked.
I'm not busy... a woman with three children under the age of 10 wouldn't think my schedule looked so busy.
Well I'm in my 60s now. I finally look it I think. People until I was 60 would always say they thought I looked younger which I think without flattering myself I did but I think I certainly have as George Orwell says people do after a certain age the face they deserve.
