Earlier feminists were almost universally pro-choice and have dominated political debate until now. Having access to abortion was viewed as the only way women could have full equality with men who until recently couldn't get pregnant.

The liberal ideal is that everyone should have fair access and fair opportunity. This is not equality of result. It's equality of opportunity. There's a fundamental difference.

When they favor the access of other people to education and health care the countries of the North not only demonstrate generosity or solidarity but also implement the principles of respecting and promoting human rights.

In our post-9/11 world our Nation's military deserves at least the same access to institutions of higher education that any other major employer might enjoy.

I believe that access to a university education should be based on the ability to learn not what people can afford. I think there is no more nauseating a sight than politicians pulling up the ladder of opportunity behind them.

One of the factors a country's economy depends on is human capital. If you don't provide women with adequate access to healthcare education and employment you lose at least half of your potential. So gender equality and women's empowerment bring huge economic benefits.
