I propose that the government should get out of the business of marrying people and instead only give legal status to civil unions.

Man I don't want to have nothing to do with computers. I don't want the government in my business.

Romney is right that the Obama vision is too centered on government. But his is too centered on the promotion of business and wealth creation at the expense of everything else.

There are people in the public sector with a range of experiences that have no equivalent in business but are essential to governing like keeping a kid in school or helping someone get and hold a job. The value of those skills can't easily be measured against a bottom line.

Dishonesty in government is the business of every citizen. It is not enough to do your own job. There's no particular virtue in that. Democracy isn't a gift. It's a responsibility.

I traveled the state of Florida for two years campaigning. I have never met a job creator who told me that they were waiting for the next tax increase before they started growing their business. I've never met a single job creator who's ever said to me I can't wait until government raises taxes again so I can go out and create a job.

Government's role should be only to keep the playing field level and to work hand in hand with business on issues such as employment. But beyond this to as great an extent as possible it should get the hell out of the way.

I think if you look at people whether in business or government who haven't had any moral compass who've just changed to say whatever they thought the popular thing was in the end they're losers.

It is just as important that business keep out of government as that government keep out of business.

Disbelief in magic can force a poor soul into believing in government and business.
