For centuries the death penalty often accompanied by barbarous refinements has been trying to hold crime in check yet crime persists. Why? Because the instincts that are warring in man are not as the law claims constant forces in a state of equilibrium.

As much as I transferred my mother to Elizabeth Shore of The Black Dahlia as much as her dad mutated into an obsession with crime in general well I have thought about other things throughout the years.

I thought Daredevil was kind of cool because he couldn't do anything. I mean he's blind. It wasn't that he could fly. His major power was an impediment. So I was intrigued. I wrote seven Myron Bolitar novels in a row and I never want to write a Myron book where he just solves a crime. Every one of them I want to be personal and I want him to grow and change. The problem with that is it makes the series limited you can't write a series where a guy is always going through some kind of crisis.

We don't seem to be able to check crime so why not legalize it and then tax it out of business?

Crime is terribly revealing. Try and vary your methods as you will your tastes your habits your attitude of mind and your soul is revealed by your actions.
