When I want comfort food I buy Maltesers. I like all chocolates but especially those. You can eat them and because they're so light you can convince yourself that they are not actually that fattening.

The magazine the daytime show we've always tried to write affordable accessible. Those are key words for us and I do mean us a huge staff of people at the magazine who love to cook affordable friendly food that helps families eat better for less.
Food during my early years was a very difficult issue for me. I grew up in an addictive family. My mother had serious problems with alcohol and prescription drugs. I was an overweight kid. I can remember back in those days there weren't the strategies that there are today to deal with those issues.
I couldn't relate to kid stuff. 'Jimmy doesn't like me!' Who cares? I was worried we didn't have gas money or food. Those were my concerns.
Don't try to be the next Rachael Ray or Bobby Flay we already have those people. We want someone who is going to make their own mark on 'Food Network.'
Even more importantly it's wine food and the arts. Incorporating those three enhances the quality of life.
I add a lot of citrus to my food and I think that flavors it. And to me that what makes it healthier lower in fat lower in calories. It adds lots of flavor. Spices of course. But citrus is definitely kind of my go-to to season and really to really make those flavors make that food come alive.
Those other 10 o'clock shows that come on all you get from them is headaches and nightmares when you go to bed! At least we give you food know what I mean?
Music is one of those things that is constantly going in my head all the time. It's sort of like the evolution and creation of doing food or my philosophy about wine. It's always beating in my head so it keeps the spirit moving.
