My sister has three kids so I've spent a lot of time around children and I've always really liked them and wanted my own. It's cool because you think all babies are the same but they aren't at all. They all have such different personalities. It's crazy.

Jazz took too much discipline. You have to come in at the right place which is different than me singing the blues where I can sing 'Oh baby ' if there's a pause in the melody. With jazz you better leave that space open or put in something real cool.

Both conservatives and liberals watch 'Parks and Recreation ' and they each think the show is for them which is really cool. 'SNL' was totally different. It was exciting because everyone was paying attention. Political humor works when people know what you're talking about.

It's hard to encapsulate my inspiration because there are so many different looks but I think it's just like sexy girl you see walking down the street in a cool outfit. A lot of eyelet a lot of leather playing with the hard and the soft the good and bad inside of us all.

These days it's cool to be ethnic and to be different but when I was a kid it was not cool - at all. My friends would come over and my mom would make crepes with eggs stuffed with mozzarella cheese tomatoes and spinach. And they'd be like 'What is this?'

I'm taking a lot of my favorite artists different people my favorite music and marrying that with what I do as a comic. It's very collaborative arty fun and cool.

It was a very cool thing to be a smart girl as opposed to some other different kind. And I think that made a great deal of difference to me growing up and in my life afterward.

It's interesting to feel the pressure of having to be outgoing because I think in general as a human being I'm pessimistic and introverted. Remember the first time you went to a show and saw your favorite band. You wore their shirt and sang every word. You didn't know anything about scene politics haircuts or what was cool. All you knew was that this music made you feel different from anyone you shared a locker with. Someone finally understood you. This is what music is about.
