Individuality is the aim of political liberty. By leaving the citizen as much freedom of action and of being as comports with order and the rights of others the institutions render him truly a freeman. He is left to pursue his means of happiness in his own manner.

An institution or reform movement that is not selfish must originate in the recognition of some evil that is adding to the sum of human suffering or diminishing the sum of happiness.

Let us develop the resources of our land call forth its powers build up its institutions promote all its great interests and see whether we also in our day and generation may not perform something worthy to be remembered.
