Taxpayers deserve a government that harnesses technology to better serve the people.
What did the taxpayers get out of the Obama stimulus? More debt. That money wasn't just spent and wasted - it was borrowed spent and wasted.
More than 1.1 million taxpayers in Pennsylvania will enjoy a lower tax rate more than 1.4 million married couples will benefit from the reduction in the marriage penalty and more than 1.1 million parents will have the advantage of an increased child tax credit.
But at the end of the day we need to represent the taxpayers who have made enormous sacrifices. Many have lost their jobs. Many of them have seen their companies - they don't have a pension - they have seen their companies cut the match for their 401(k). They have seen their health care benefits be shredded.
Obamacare is a seriously flawed law that makes health care coverage less affordable costs taxpayers more than advertised and fails to deliver on most of its other grand promises.
They said it was impossible to touch the third rail of politics to take on public-sector unions and to reform a pension and health benefits system that was headed to bankruptcy. But with bipartisan leadership we saved taxpayers $132 billion dollars over 30 years and saved retirees their pensions. We did it.
We are the ones looking out for the middle class. Who do think pays for the endless expansion of government? Its middle class taxpayers. Our reforms protect middle class taxpayers.
We don't need new taxes. We need new taxpayers people that are gainfully employed making money and paying into the tax system. And then we need a government that has the discipline to take that additional revenue and use it to pay down the debt and never grow it again.
I have long believed taxpayers make better use of their money than the government ever could.
