I started DJing breakdancing and MCing in the '70s and I got my record deal in 1979 with 'Christmas Rap.'

During the holidays everyone needs a break from studying for exams and Christmas shopping. I wanted to put together a diverse tour that rocks in many musical directions but always points to Christ.

You can't allow the forces of political correction to shut you up. I mean why are people afraid to say 'Merry Christmas?' Give me a break. If people don't like it yeah they can go do something else.

Create your own method. Don't depend slavishly on mine. Make up something that will work for you! But keep breaking traditions I beg you.

And I'm going to work as hard as I can... for cancer research and hopefully maybe we'll have some cures and some breakthroughs. I'd like to think I'm going to fight my brains out to be back here again next year for the Arthur Ashe recipient. I want to give it next year!

My own image of my work is that I no sooner settle into something than a break occurs. These breaks are always painful and depressing but despite them I see that there's a consistency that holds out but is hard to define.

It ain't easy to break out of a mold but if you do your work people will ultimately see what you're capable of. Too often people find it easier to make assumptions and stick with what they believe. They put you in a place and it makes their job easier. The good people constantly search for something different.
