Why do we have 47 million people without health care? Because America has become about 'me'. What's happened to 'we' as a people? I believe in that and that resonates to most people.
Though 'Fire and Rain' is very personal for other people it resonates as a sort of commonly held experience... And that's what happens with me. I write things for personal reasons and then in some cases it... can be a shared experience.
I think it's particularly a distinctively American concept that resonates with American culture through biker culture. A motorcycle is an independent thing. You're like 'I don't want to ride in a car with this person. I want to be independent and ride by myself. But let's ride in a group. Let's be independent together.'
It's awesome to see something like 'Inception' which is just mind-blowing and amazing and it actually resonates with the audiences. I feel like that's rare.
