I have experienced jealousy possessiveness verbal abuse and violence from men but I have also experienced jealousy possessiveness verbal abuse and violence from women usually when I failed to respond to their advances.
Back then I didn't think a woman like that or a relationship like that could exist with complete freedom and no jealousy or possessiveness. I thought it sounded too good to be true and I was certainly convinced it wasn't the life for me!
I did not want to put myself on the line as an Australian playing Britain's greatest comic actor. The fans of Sellers are obsessive possessive - and aggressive. I did not want to risk their anger - or my own reputation.
I receive huge support from Irish and British sports fans alike and it is greatly appreciated. Likewise I feel I have a great affinity with the American sports fans. I play most of my golf in the U.S. nowadays and I am incredibly proud to have won the U.S. Open and U.S. PGA Championship in the last two years.
