'The Taxi Ride ' from my second album is one people want to hear a lot. I'm consciously trying to walk on the sunny side of the street to really lift myself into a place of greater positivity and that's a sad song.
Positivity that's one of the things I try to spread throughout my company and really anyone I come in contact with. Because as you know life's too short. You got to keep it positive and keep it fun.
You can't live a positive life with a negative mind and if you have a positive outcome you have a positive income and just to have more positivity and just to kind of laugh it off.
Hip-hop's always reached out to kids. If you look at the last 10 big albums it might seem ironic. But when I look at the history of this music it's always had a lot of positivity.
I was turning 20 during my first record. Those decade birthdays always kind of cause me it seems to reflect look back and then look forward. I just was closing this period of my life where I was living in a car and scrambling my whole life to then signing a six-record deal with Atlantic.
