Unlike some of the time-travel movies I love like 'Primer' or '12 Monkeys ' 'Looper' is not about time travel. It's about this situation that time travel creates and the people dealing with that situation. So narratively the big challenge was to have time travel get out of the way.
I have a pet lizard named Puff five goldfish - named Pinky Brain Jowels Pearl and Sandy an oscar fish named Chef two pacus an albino African frog named Whitey a bonsai tree four Venus flytraps a fruit fly farm and sea monkeys.
Monkeys are superior to men in this: when a monkey looks into a mirror he sees a monkey.
If you could cross a lion and a monkey that's what I'd be because monkeys are funny and lions are strong.
People don't know where to place me. Terry Gilliam used me as a quirky cop in 'Twelve Monkeys' and then he hired me again to be an effeminate hotel clerk in 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas'. Another time I was shooting this indie film 'The Souler Opposite' and six days a week I'm playing this big puppy dog then I come to the 'NYPD Blue' set and become this scumbag.
I have mentally overcome situations most of you would be terrified to ever attempt: heights fire needles spiders snakes angry monkeys being shot being hit by a car going blind - you name it I have been in a situation where I have had to mentally overcome my inherent fears to do my job.
