I had a very very difficult relationship with my mother who was supremely self-centred. She was hilariously self-centred. She did not really take interest in anything that didn't immediately affect her.
In all history there is no war which was not hatched by the governments the governments alone independent of the interests of the people to whom war is always pernicious even when successful.
