There are so many things I want to do. Like I want to get an artist a musician a photographer and a bunch of dancers that I know and just travel across Africa and just film it and just see what happens. Do and learn as much as I possibly can. Luckily I have a lot more time.
I was using tape loops for dancers and dance production. I had very funky primitive equipment in fact technology wasn't very good no matter how much money you had.
Music videos are notoriously long not fun grueling. You are known there as a dancer and it's kind of sad because dancers in a lot of ways are under-appreciated and kind of under-respected when it come to that so they don't necessarily treat you in a nice way when you do a music video.
Choreography is mentally draining but there's a pleasure in getting into the studio with the dancers and the music.
My parents were both in show business. My father was an actor my mom an actress and both singers dancers and actors. They met in Los Angeles doing a play together and so I grew up in a show biz family.
Great dancers are not great because of their technique they are great because of their passion.
I actually build my dreams around the dancers I've got in my company.
I always recommend a sensible diet including lots of carbohydrates and avoiding too much fat. Dancers don't need different fuel from other people - they just need more of it because they use more energy.
I remember the first time I felt that I was sharing the stage with someone spectacular was dancing with Beyonce. It was the dancers the band Beyonce and me in front of thousands of people. That was sick. It was pretty amazing that I got to travel the world with someone like her.
I'm glad I was born when I was. My time was the golden age of variety. If I were starting out again now maybe things would happen for me but it certainly would not be on a variety show with 28 musicians 12 dancers two major guest stars 50 costumes a week by Bob Mackie. The networks just wouldn't spend the money today.
