I awake with a not entirely sickened knowledge that I am merely young again and in a funny way at peace an observer who is aware of time's chariot aware that some metamorphosis has occurred.

Reconciliation should be accompanied by justice otherwise it will not last. While we all hope for peace it shouldn't be peace at any cost but peace based on principle on justice.

If one seeks to analyze experiences and reactions to the first postwar years I hope one may say without being accused of bias that it is easier for the victor than for the vanquished to advocate peace.

I hope for peace and sanity - it's the same thing.
