Money is not a motivating factor. Money doesn't thrill me or make me play better because there are benefits to being wealthy. I'm just happy with a ball at my feet. My motivation comes from playing the game I love. If I wasn't paid to be a professional footballer I would willingly play for nothing.

One thing that people keep on saying to me is that the wealth and the fame must have made up for missing out on my childhood. But the idea of money - putting a price on your childhood - is ridiculous. You will never get those years back and you can't put a price on them.

Anyone who wants to sell you overnight success or wealth is not interested in your success they are interested in your money.

For a successful entrepreneur it can mean extreme wealth. But with extreme wealth comes extreme responsibility. And the responsibility for me is to invest in creating new businesses create jobs employ people and to put money aside to tackle issues where we can make a difference.

Labour was the first price the original purchase - money that was paid for all things. It was not by gold or by silver but by labour that all wealth of the world was originally purchased.

Wealth flows from energy and ideas.

All riches have their origin in mind. Wealth is in ideas - not money.

We must conceive of this whole universe as one commonwealth of which both gods and men are members.

Wealthy men can't live in an island that is encircled by poverty. We all breathe the same air. We must give a chance to everyone at least a basic chance.

For many men the acquisition of wealth does not end their troubles it only changes them.
