Chicago is known for good steaks expensive stores and beautiful architecture. Unfortunately the Windy City also enjoys a reputation for corrupt politics violent crime and some of the strictest gun control laws anywhere in the country.

Maybe we can show government how to operate better as a result of better architecture. Eventually I think Chicago will be the most beautiful great city left in the world.

It is impossible as impossible as to raise the dead to restore anything that has ever been great or beautiful in architecture. That which I have insisted upon as the life of the whole that spirit which is given only by the hand and eye of the workman can never be recalled.

Architecture is not an inspirational business it's a rational procedure to do sensible and hopefully beautiful things that's all.

To me a building - if it's beautiful - is the love of one man he's made it out of his love for space materials things like that.

Since I wrote to you last we have got our chapel beautifully lighted with gas and have had our anniversary.

Next month I will celebrate my 30th anniversary of marriage with my beautiful bride Vicki. Our marriage has been a blessing. I have gained even more respect for the institution over the past 3 decades and will defend it against attack.

The Anger Management Tour was another beautiful thing. I loved that tour.

Obviously there's the seedy side of the strip club world and pole dancing. But pole dancing as an art form is really beautiful. It's been hyper-sexualized because it's associated with strippers but if you think about it just in terms of other kinds of dancing they're using an instrument to create these amazing dance forms.

I always knew that St. Jude was an amazing organization but meeting the kids and seeing how the hospital works first hand was truly beautiful. It doesn't feel like a regular hospital all dreary and sad. It's a colorful beautiful comfortable fun place to live and the energy is wonderful.
