I know what it's like to start a business. I know how extra ordinarily difficult it is to build something from nothing. I know how government kills jobs and yes I know how it can help from time- to-time.

Freedom. Freedom of religion. Freedom to speak their mind. Freedom to build a life. And yes freedom to build a business. With their own hands. This is the essence of the American experience.

If you were successful somebody along the line gave you some help... Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you've got a business - you didn't build that. Somebody else made that happen.

It's time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st century we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient more transparent and more creative. That will demand new thinking and a new sense of responsibility for every dollar that is spent.

If we listened to our intellect we'd never have a love affair. We'd never have a friendship. We'd never go into business because we'd be cynical. Well that's nonsense. You've got to jump off cliffs all the time and build your wings on the way down.

Regard it as just as desirable to build a chicken house as to build a cathedral.

I did a cake for the 60th birthday of Elton John for Britney Spears' 27th birthday and for the 'Circus' album she put out - the cake had circus themes. I prepared a cake for a surprise 82nd birthday event for the architect Frank Gehry the cake was comprised of mini-replicas of his buildings.

My stay-married secret would probably be exercising good communication not when you have to but all the time. I think if you do that you kinda just cleanse the situations so there's not build up. I think that's probably the best way to do it.

We think the Mac will sell zillions but we didn't build the Mac for anybody else. We built it for ourselves. We were the group of people who were going to judge whether it was great or not. We weren't going to go out and do market research. We just wanted to build the best thing we could build.
