Too many athletes are living in a tiny window. They have no vision for themselves - what they can be outside of football and what they can mean to a community. They just don't know any better. My hopes and dreams are unlimited.

When I announced the development of Perl 6 I said it was going to be a community design. I designed Perl myself. It's limited by my own brain power. So I wanted Perl 6 to be a community design.

In these dangerous times where it seems the world is ripping apart at the seams we can all learn how to survive from those who stare death squarely in the face every day and we should reach out to each other and bond as a community rather than hide from the terrors of life at the end of the millennium.

I mean in the South African case many of those who were part of death squads would have been respectable members of their white community people who went to church on Sunday every Sunday.

My mother and dad were big animal lovers too. I just don't know how I would have lived without animals around me. I'm fascinated by them - both domestic pets and the wild community. They just are the most interesting things in the world to me and it's made such a difference in my lifetime.

My dad's whole family is in Madras and I was born in America so we didn't have that big Indian community. I don't really have anything interesting to say about it. When I talk about it people are like 'meh let's talk about something else.'

In an online community there's this kind of social economy between the community members. Some people have status because they make cool skins or that's a good website that's visited a lot but there's no real gameplay there.

It's really cool to see glowsticks at the show to see dance music culture infiltrating and becoming one with the metal community.

A world community can exist only with world communication which means something more than extensive short-wave facilities scattered about the globe. It means common understanding a common tradition common ideas and common ideals.

I do a little fact checking now and then. Other than that its impact is simply that email has revolutionized communication for me and my website has built up a community of readers which is a lot of fun.
