An honorable Peace is and always was my first wish! I can take no delight in the effusion of human Blood but if this War should continue I wish to have the most active part in it.
Never be discouraged. If I were sunk in the lowest pits of Nova Scotia with the Rocky Mountains piled on me I would hang on exercise faith and keep up good courage and I would come out on top.
